Compliance status

This template is designed to conform to WCAG 2.2 level AA and includes automated accessibility checks, keyboard checks and responsive-layout tests. A production site should not claim full conformance until its replacement content, documents and third-party services have also been reviewed manually.

We treat accessibility as continuing work. Passing an automated test does not by itself establish that every page is accessible to every person or assistive technology.

Known limitations

The following areas may need additional attention on a production site:

• PDF newsletters: some PDF readers or older documents may be harder to navigate. The same current newsletter content is provided as an HTML page wherever possible.
• Third-party content: embedded maps, donation platforms, videos and social media are operated by other providers. We cannot control every aspect of their accessibility, but we will offer a practical alternative where we can.
• User-supplied documents: historic or externally supplied files may not have a complete heading structure, tagged reading order or text alternative.

How we test the website

We test representative pages at desktop and mobile sizes using automated WCAG A and AA rules, keyboard-only navigation, focus behaviour, text resizing, layout reflow and link checks. Before launch, the organisation should add manual screen-reader testing and test every external form or service used for essential tasks. Testing should be repeated after material design, content or platform changes.

Preparation and review

This statement was prepared for the current version of the website on the date shown above. Review it at least annually and whenever a material accessibility issue, redesign or new third-party service is introduced. Record the date, scope, tools and outcome of each production accessibility review.
